Paradise Pier Hotel, are 100% smokefree as of March 1st. Disney's Grand

are smokefree. The decision to make the hotels smokefree was based on customer
demand.
Westin Hotels
Westin became the first big chain of hotels to adopt a 100% smokefree policy,
providing smokefree air throughout its 77 U.S., Canadian and Caribbean lodgings,
including: guest rooms, lobbies, meeting rooms, restaurants, bars. Westin reported
that only 8% of customers were asking for smoking rooms, so they went smokefree
to provide guests with a more comfortable and healthier hotel stay.

I believe the scope and complexity of this health
crisis poses the single greatest issue facing our State over the next
generation. Solving it will take focused and bold steps from all corners
of the State. I am very proud of ...the Black Mountain board for the leadership
role they are playing on this issue within the ski industry. said
Andy Shepard, President and owner of Black Mountain.

In December Whistler Blackcomb strengthened their smokefree policy with added signage at the bottom and the top of all lifts. The move was in response to a number of complaints from guests frustrated by smokers in lift lines.
|
"Weve always had signs but there was an increase
in negative guest comments complaining about smoking in line and so that
is the reason why weve increased the signage," said Tabetha
Boot, senior public relations officer with Whistler-Blackcomb.
